WHO WE ARE

OUR VALUES
Biblical Foundations: 2 Timothy 3:16–17
The Bible is the foundation of all that we believe as a church. The Bible is God’s story of redemption, which encompasses the fall of man, the justification of sin through Jesus Christ, the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, and the glorification of believers through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. A practical example of this at Fairmount Bible Church is preaching and discipleship that is centered on Scripture to equip believers for life.

Family-Oriented Ministry: Deut 6:4–9; Eph 5:22–33, 6:1–4
Parents are the spiritual leaders of the home. We want to encourage at-home discipleship by engaging in spiritual disciplines. We hope to keep the families worshiping together and not splitting them up. A practical example of this at Fairmount Bible Church is our 5th Sunday family, Family weekly devotionals, and the way our students regularly participate in Sunday worship alongside the rest of the church body.

Christ-Centered Worship: John 4:24; Ephesians 5:15–21
The Church exists to glorify God through authentic, heartfelt worship that exalts Christ. A practical example of this at Fairmount Bible Church is creating worship experiences that focus on God’s greatness rather than performance.
Discipleship and Spiritual Growth: Ephesians 4:11–16; Colossians 1:28
Equipping Christians to grow in their relationship with Jesus and mature in their faith by practicing spiritual disciplines. FBC Discipleship Roadway, groups, and the practical application of Scripture.

Evangelism & Outreach: Matt 28:18–20; 22:34–40; Mark 12:28–34; Luke 10:25–28
Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with those in our relational circles (OIKOS) and the surrounding community. Helping Christians live the Great Commandment through the Great Commission. A practical example of this at Fairmount Bible Church is OIKOS training, the 3-Circles evangelism tool, and the FBC Discipleship Roadway.

Expository Preaching: 2 Timothy 3:16–17
Expository preaching is the primary focus of our teaching at Fairmount Bible Church. We go book-by-book and chapter-by-chapter. As Bryan Chappell points out in his book Christ-Centered Preaching, “The main idea of an expository sermon is that the topic, the divisions of that idea, main points, and the development of those divisions, all come from truths the text itself contains.” The goal is to expound on the meaning of the text and present it in a clear view so that we can better understand the Bible and how it applies to our lives. All of Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit and inerrant in its message (2 Timothy 3:16–17). Therefore, none of Scripture is ignored for our preaching. A practical example of this at Fairmount Bible Church is Verse-by-Verse teaching.
